Small business operator, lawyer, community volunteer, public policy commentator, mother. Kate Ashmor wears many hats!
Kate is a trusted local and a widely respected community advocate. She is passionate about small business, stronger families, a fair go and the vibrancy of our unique electorate.
Kate and her husband Tom live in Caulfield. They have been married for seventeen years and they have two young daughters, Tammy and Mikayla.
Kate has lived locally her entire life. She went to Kindergarden in Elsternwick, grew up in her grandparents’ flat in Elwood, was one of the first girls to attend Caulfield Grammar thanks to an academic scholarship, and she studied Arts/Law at Monash University.
From humble beginnings, Kate has been working since her early teens. Her first job was at a party decorating shop in Caulfield South. She started her first business aged seventeen, tutoring local students. And she has practised as a lawyer for thirteen years, including in her own Caulfield-based law firm for the last four years. Kate has helped many locals with their conveyancing and wills.
Kate’s face is a familiar one in Macnamara: she served as an elected Councillor for the City of Glen Eira from 2005-2008, and she has Chaired the board of Caulfield Park Bendigo Bank since 2013. She is a former President of Australian Women Lawyers and has served on various not-for-profit boards over the years.
As our community enters a new era, there is nobody more passionate about Macnamara’s past, present and future than Kate.
Kate Ashmor is your local Liberal candidate for Macnamara.
